چکیده
We present a fully coupled pore-network/free-flow model providing pore-scale insight into drying processes. solve the Navier–Stokes equations with component transport in free-flow region, to dynamic two-phase, two-component pore-network (PNM) porous domain. The multi-physics allows temporally resolve processes in-between capillary equilibrium states. All simulations are non-isothermal and use pressure- temperature-depended fluid properties. Carefully chosen coupling conditions monolithic solver ensure local conservation of mass, momentum, energy fluxes, particular at interface between both domains. for wetting non-wetting pressure fields consider advective gas network. Numerical examples demonstrate that is able cover wide range physical relevant show mutual interaction two subregions. implemented modular open-source framework DuMux such extensions straight-forward.

A Pore-scale Hydro-mechanical Coupled Model for Geomaterials
We present a model for fluid-saturated granular media coupled flow and mechanical deformation. The fluid is assumed to be incompressible and the solid part is assumed to be a cohesive granular material. Forces exerted by the fluid in motion are determinated and applied to solid particles. We derive a finite volumes formulation of the flow problem and we couple it to a discrete element method (D...
متن کاملA New Approach for Constructing Pore Network Model of Two Phase Flow in Porous Media
Development of pore network models for real porous media requires a detailed understanding of physical processes occurring on the microscopic scale and a complete description of porous media morphology. In this study, the microstructure of porous media has been represented by three dimensional networks of interconnected pores and throats which are designed by an object oriented approach. Af...

In this paper, the performance of nanofiltration membrane process in removing Pb(II) from aqueous solution was modeled by the pore flow-concentration polarization model. The model was fabricated based on the simultaneous resolving of Extended Nernst–Planck equation(ENP), film theory, and osmotic pressure model. The effects of various operational parameters such as the applied pressure, feed con...
متن کاملPore-scale Simulation of Coupled Two-phase Flow and Heat Transfer through Dual-Permeability Porous Medium
This paper addresses one of the major challenges in water-flooded oil reservoirs, which is early water breakthrough due to the presence of high permeable layers in the media. COMSOL Multiphysics is used to model two phase (water and oil) flow in dual-permeability porous medium at micro-scales. The heat transfer module is coupled with the laminar two-phase flow interface, because temperature aff...
متن کاملA Non-isothermal Pore Network drying Model: Influence of Gravity
The concept of immiscible displacement as an invasion percolation (IP) process driven by heat and mass transfer is used in a pore network model for convective drying of capillary porous media. The coupling between heat and mass transfer occurs at the liquid-gas interface through temperature dependent equilibrium vapour pressure, surface tension and phase change enthalpy (in evaporation and cond...
